A Starfish thrower

Many of you wonder why I do what I do, it is because I believe in the value of a human soul.
This is a short meaningful story that is close to my heart.

The Starfish Thrower

Once upon a time there was a man
who used to go to the ocean

to do his writing.

He had a habit of walking on the beach

before he began his work.
One day he was walking along the shore.
As he looked down the beach

he saw a human figure moving like a dancer.

He smiled to himself to think of someone
who would dance to the day.
So he began to walk faster to catch up.
As he got closer, he saw that it was an
older man and the man wasn't dancing.

Instead he was reaching down to the shore,

picking up something
and very gently throwing it into the ocean.

As he got closer he called out,

"Good morning! What are you doing?"
The older man paused, looked up and replied,
"Throwing starfish into the ocean."

The man noticed that there were hundreds of starfish

all washed up on the beach from a storm the night before.

He watched as the man carefully

continued to pick up the starfish

one by one.
"I guess I should have asked,

'Why are you throwing starfish in the ocean?'"
"The sun is up and the tide is going out.

If I don't throw them in they'll die."
"But don't you realize

there are miles and miles of beach

and starfish all along it.

You can't possibly make a difference!"
The older man listened politely.

He bent down, picked up another starfish

He looked at the starfish

as he prepared to throw it into the ocean,

past the breaking waves and said –

"I will make a differenceto this one!"

No worries back on line soon

Hi I know a lot of you were looking forward to the first part of the foster mother's journal that I had translated. However we have been hit by three crisis this week and are just hanging on by the skin of our teeth.
1.  One son is in the hospital, my older son that I mentioned before. Making slow improvement.
2. Matthew has had some very fruitful but rough sessions in attachment therapy .
3rd. Another younger daughter has come forward with the truth about some things that happened to her  a number of years ago. She is working on healing her heart and we are excited for her.
We also have had to have our return air ducts cleaned out due to contaminants inadvertently being poured into them, along with carpets scheduled to be cleaned on Tuesday becasue of the same problem.
All this necessitated a call to poison control and I also had a minor asthma attack Friday because of the pollutants (That are now gone) that were in our  home. I don't even have asthma!
Anyway hang in there! When life calms down a little bit I will be able to tell you some more funny things about life that have been happening.
Matthew keeps us laughing and we watch in amazement as he evolves into our family and works his way into our hearts.
Adriana
Please send prayers we need them.
